Role Summary:
The Vice President, Procurement designs, builds, and leads Dyne’s end-to-end sourcing and procurement function to maximize value from external spend. This role establishes enterprise-wide source-to-pay strategies, policies, and systems, while ensuring alignment with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and operational priorities. The Vice President drives strategic supplier partnerships, oversees complex negotiations, and develops scalable processes to support Dyne’s growth. Additionally, this role provides leadership visibility through reporting, insights, and cross-functional collaboration to enable informed decision-making and sustained organizational impact.
This role is based in Waltham, MA.
Primary Responsibilities Include:
Procurement Strategy & Operations
Establish and execute a long-term vision and roadmap for Procurement aligned to Dyne’s strategic objectives
Design and implement scalable, end-to-end source-to-pay processes, policies, and governance frameworks
Develop and implement a fit-for-purpose operating model, including organizational design and staffing strategy
Partner with IT to select, implement, and optimize procurement systems integrated with enterprise platforms
Lead procurement compliance activities, including audit readiness and documentation standards
Strategic Sourcing & Cross-Functional Partnership
Lead complex, high-value sourcing initiatives, including RFP development, supplier evaluation, negotiation, and contracting support
Partner closely with Finance, Legal, and functional leaders to ensure alignment with financial, legal, and regulatory requirements
Provide strategic guidance, methodology, and governance for enterprise-wide purchasing activities
Build strong cross-functional relationships to drive adoption, sponsorship, and adherence to procurement practices
Deliver regular reporting and insights on savings, pipeline, risks, and performance against key objectives
Supplier Relationship Management
Establish and standardize supplier selection, onboarding, and performance management processes
Develop and manage strategic supplier relationships, including leading periodic business reviews
Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Serve as a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external partners to resolve issues and maintain alignment
Corporate Social Responsibility & Compliance
Establish and advance procurement-related CSR initiatives, including sustainability, supplier diversity, and ethical sourcing
Ensure procurement practices align with corporate policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards
Support external reporting requirements and ESG-related disclosures as applicable
Education and Skills Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required
20+ years purchasing/procurement experience, with at least 8 in the biotech/pharma industry
Experience with ERP / MRP / Procurement systems, processes and tools is a must
Previous experience of working in a global business with matrix management
Must be a self-starter and highly organized
Excellent planning, interpersonal, and organizational skills
Experienced and comfortable leading complex initiatives of high dollar value from inception through to implementation
Ability to develop accurate and timely reports, presentations and metrics
Effective and proven negotiating skills
Demonstrated leadership in a high-growth or transformational environment
Ability to communicate through the organization across all levels

MA Pay Range
$272,000—$340,000 USD
The pay range reflects the base pay range Dyne reasonably expects to pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation depends on factors such as education, experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills.
