Department Title: Undergrad Intern – FT Investment Solutions: Asset Allocation Research
Position Summary:
What is your Department or Team responsible for?
Building out the MOSAIQ multi-asset investment platform. Develop and systematize all investment processes that relate to creating a multi-asset portfolio – Strategic asset allocation, Dynamic asset allocation and Manager Allocation.
Describe the Team Culture:
Dynamic collaborative team with quantitative and technical expertise, involved in all aspects of the investment process; data collection/wrangling, idea generation and methodology implementation.
Strong ownership culture, allowing employees to carry out their ideas given the broader vision of the group.
What can an Intern expect to learn by the end of their internship?
Learn how a multi-asset portfolio is constructed
Gain in-depth knowledge of a particular dataset(s)
Learn data wrangling/data cleaning methods, create “smart” reports that help validate particular dataset(s).
Improve python skills especially in financial applications. Understanding of quantitative models used in our strategic asset allocation process.
How would you sell this job to an Intern?
Ability to learn from a wide range of investment professionals, gain insight to different functions within a multi-asset group. MosaiQ brings together researchers, traders, PM, cPMs to collaborate on investment processes that lead to creating a robust multi-asset portfolio.

What will this intern be responsible for? Please provide examples if specific job duties are not known at this time.
A very specific end-to-end project, that will have impact in two of the most crucial steps : a) data validation – creating “smart” reports that detail data quality b) model attribution - detail model changes, which data component is driving the change.
The intern will learn data cleaning techniques, utilize their python skills to create user-friendly reports/templates that will be used within Mosaiq and accessed by investment professionals.
Examples include : what macro-economic factor is driving the change in YEN forecast for this quarter?
Ideal Qualifications:
What top qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
Experience programming in languages such as Python, Matlab, and R.
Experience working with databases, e.g., SQL.
Some finance coursework or a demonstrated strong intererest in investing strongly preferred

This is a full-time internship where students will work approximately 35 hours per week and earn competitive hourly pay of $37 USD per hour.
