Job Summary
The purpose of this part-time position is to join the academic team at Istituto Marangoni Dubai and contribute to teaching within the area of Video Making and Fashion Film for the Fashion Communication & Image programme. The role involves guiding students through the complete filmmaking process, from concept development, narrative and screenplay development, scriptwriting, and storyboarding to pre-production, directing, and shooting. The tutor will support students in translating fashion concepts and visual narratives into moving-image outcomes while introducing them to contemporary industry practices in fashion filmmaking and visual storytelling.
The tutor will also contribute to the wider academic strategy through practical workshops, project reviews, industry insights, and the development of students' creative portfolios.
Key Purpose of the Job
To provide students with a strong foundation in filmmaking and moving-image storytelling within the context of fashion communication. The tutor will combine creative and technical knowledge with current industry practice, supporting students in developing original concepts and translating them into professionally planned and executed fashion films.

Teaching Activities
Plan and deliver creative, theory and practical sessions aligned with CAA standards and Istituto Marangoni's methodology. Guide students from initial concept development through scripting, storyboarding, pre-production, and filming. Introduce professional filmmaking workflows and contemporary industry practices while encouraging experimentation and individual creative development. Work in course files during the semester in line with ministry of education.
Student’s Academic Support
Support students in developing concepts, narratives, screenplays, scripts, and storyboards for fashion films. Guide students through pre-production planning, including shot lists, casting considerations, locations, production schedules, and creative team coordination. Provide practical guidance on directing, camera language, framing, movement, lighting, and shooting techniques. Encourage students to develop a strong understanding of the relationship between fashion, image, narrative, sound, movement, and film. Provide formative and summative feedback throughout the development and production process and create a learning environment that encourages experimentation, critical thinking, and individual creative expression.
Industry Projects
Bring current professional knowledge and industry practices into the classroom, providing students with insight into contemporary fashion film and commercial moving-image production. Support live briefs and collaborative projects with fashion brands, creative agencies, production studios, filmmakers, and digital platforms where applicable. Guide students in developing fashion films and moving-image projects that contribute to strong professional portfolios and showreels aligned with contemporary industry expectations.
Educational and Professional Requirements
MA in Film, Filmmaking, Media Production, Fashion Communication, Visual Communication, or a related field.
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience within an international academic institution at university level preferred.
UAE Ministry of Education Equivalency Certificate preferred.
Strong professional and current industry experience in filmmaking, directing, or video production, preferably within fashion, luxury, advertising, editorial, or creative industries.
Demonstrated experience in screenplay development, scriptwriting, storyboarding, pre-production, directing, and shooting.
Strong understanding of camera language, visual composition, lighting, and production workflows.
Working knowledge of video editing and post-production processes.
Ability to mentor students throughout both the creative and technical stages of filmmaking.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
UAE residency required
A strong professional portfolio/showreel demonstrating expertise in filmmaking, visual storytelling, direction, and moving-image production within fashion, art, culture, advertising, or related creative fields.
