Job Title: Compliance Data Scientist I
Job Summary
As a Data Scientist II, you will lead analytics and automation initiatives from concept through deployment. You will apply advanced data science, data engineering, and automation techniques to streamline compliance and logistics processes. This role requires the ability to develop scalable pipelines, apply machine‑learning concepts, and partner with IT to integrate solutions into enterprise systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Lead development of automated ETL pipelines across ERP and GTM systems.
Develop analytics solutions for automated product classification, risk scoring, compliance KPIs, and predictive indicators.
Implement automation for entry audits, document validation, and screening workflows.
Build dashboards and reporting tools that measure compliance performance.
Partner with IT to integrate data solutions and automations into enterprise systems.
Lead data‑related initiatives and provide guidance on data strategy and best practices.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Science, or related quantitative field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or related fields.
Advanced knowledge of Python, R, SQL, and/or data warehouse architectures.
Basic understanding of machine learning and AI techniques.
Proven experience leading data projects and implementing data solutions.
Strong analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with import/export compliance and/or logistics.
Semiconductor or manufacturing industry experience.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure preferred).
Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric.
Knowledge of software engineering practices (Agile, Kanban, etc.).

U.S. BASE SALARY RANGE
$96,378.40 - $164,799.84
This base salary range reflects the typical compensation for this role across U.S. locations.
Our salary ranges are determined by role and level; individual pay is determined based on
multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, work
location, and internal equity. The range provides the opportunity for growth and progression as
you develop within the role.
Base pay is one part of our U.S. total compensation package which includes eligibility in the
Axcelis Team Incentive bonus plan, and comprehensive benefits package (for regular
employees working 20+ hours a week).
