Job Description
Software Test Engineer – Azurion Eye
Join Azurion Eye—an integrated, AI‑enabled clinical software platform embedded in the Azurion ecosystem. As a Software Test Engineer, you will execute and automate testing for REST‑based, microservice‑first applications that support clinical workflows and AI‑enabled capabilities. You will help ensure product quality, safety, and regulatory readiness by building reliable test automation, maintaining traceability, and validating behavior across realistic usage scenarios in a regulated environment.
Your role:
Execute software testing activities (automated and manual) throughout the development lifecycle within Agile/Scrum teams, ensuring high‑quality increments that meet customer, clinical, quality, and regulatory expectations.
Contribute to the test strategy and test planning for features and system increments, ensuring coverage of functional and non‑functional requirements (including performance, reliability, safety, cybersecurity, and regulatory needs).
Review functional and non‑functional requirements, user stories, and designs for accuracy and testability; raise gaps early and help sharpen acceptance criteria together with the team (e.g., 3‑Amigos collaboration).
Design, implement, and maintain automated tests using appropriate frameworks, tools, and scripting to support microservice‑based and cloud‑native systems.
Execute and maintain a broad range of tests—feature, integration, regression, system, and non‑functional testing (performance/load/reliability)—to validate software robustness across scenarios and conditions.
Set up and maintain test environments, test data, and tooling needed to run automated and manual tests consistently and efficiently.
Document test plans, protocols, results, and reports to provide clear evidence of verification activities and to support audits and regulated documentation needs.
Support design changes by assessing quality and risk impact, updating test coverage, and ensuring regressions are prevented through targeted automation.
Maintain traceability from requirements to tests, defects, and product increments, supporting transparency and control across releases.
Contribute to AI‑adjacent validation where applicable by understanding data requirements and basic AI model metrics and supporting preparation/curation of test and validation datasets used in AI‑enabled solutions.
You're the right fit if:
A bachelor in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Typically 2+ years of experience in software testing and/or automation testing across the full development lifecycle, including test design, execution, defect analysis, and regression testing.
Experience with test automation for microservice and cloud‑based applications using modern tools/frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, or similar).
Experience with BDD practices and frameworks such as Cucumber / SpecFlow, including writing Gherkin feature files and implementing step definitions.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with CI/CD ways of working; experience with Git and Azure DevOps is a plus.
Experience building or running non‑functional tests (performance, reliability, resilience) and translating risk areas into practical test coverage.
A quality‑driven, proactive mindset with strong collaboration skills—comfortable working in an agile, entrepreneurial environment with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Nice to have: experience with object‑oriented languages such as C++ and/or familiarity with regulated development environments.
