Position Overview
Autodesk's Identity and Access Management team is seeking a talented and highly motivated Software Engineer who enjoys learning, solving complex problems, and building reliable software solutions.
As a member of the team responsible for foundational identity services, you will contribute to Autodesk's Identity and Access Management platform, which supports millions of Autodesk customers and powers more than 150 Autodesk desktop, mobile, and web applications, cloud services, and third-party developer integrations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer to work with modern cloud technologies, collaborate with experienced engineers, and gain hands-on experience building scalable, secure, and reliable services that are critical to Autodesk's products and customers.
Responsibilities
Work as a member of a self-organized Agile team that builds, owns, and operates cloud services
Contribute to the development of cloud services, including back-end, front-end, DevOps, and quality engineering activities
Support service operations, including monitoring, alerting, logging, metrics, and troubleshooting
Collaborate closely with senior engineers, architects, and product owners to understand requirements and implement effective solutions
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code under the guidance of experienced team members
Participate in code reviews, design discussions, sprint planning, and other Agile ceremonies
Learn and apply engineering best practices for scalability, reliability, usability, performance, and security
Support the continuous improvement of existing systems by identifying issues and recommending enhancements
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
0–1 year of software engineering experience, including internships, academic projects, or professional experience
Good understanding of fundamental computer science concepts and programming principles
Hands-on experience with at least one programming language, such as C#, Go, Java, or Python
Familiarity with web services, Representational State Transfer (REST) Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), and client-server architecture
Basic understanding of databases, data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented programming
Willingness to learn cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and production service operations
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
Internship, academic, or project experience developing web applications, back-end services, or Application Programming Interfaces (APIs)
Basic exposure to cloud platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
Familiarity with Git, Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, unit testing, and debugging tools
Exposure to authentication, authorization, identity and access management, or application security concepts
Ability to learn quickly and contribute effectively in a collaborative engineering environment
