We are looking for a Senior Research Engineer or Scientist for our team in Uppsala. You will, as part of R&D, contribute to the development of new products which are used in the manufacturing of leading biological drugs. Your work will span all the way from idea generation to research and development as well as take an active part in troubleshooting of existing Cytiva processes. The Uppsala Cytiva site is a key hub with more than 1500 employees across various functions including manufacturing, marketing, quality control and QA. As such, collaboration and cross-functional activities with other functions will make up a significant and important part of your responsibilities as a Senior Research Engineer/Scientist.
We are seeking a new colleague to join the Viral Vector Applications section within the Genomic Medicine OpCo, R&D Uppsala. Our section consists of 20 researchers working across purification, filtration, and analytical characterization of viral vectors, plasmids and nucleic acids, supporting product development to deliver the right solutions to our customers. We are now looking for an expert in analytical methods for AAV and Lenti to strengthen our team onsite in Uppsala.
What you will do:
You will be working with analytical methods for analysis of titer/viral genomes content as well as hcDNA/HCP impurities (for example ELISA, qPCR, ddPCR), for viral vectors as AAV and Lenti
Work will be conducted in new product development, product care and market support projects with customer needs in focus.
You will be conducting analysis work in various projects. This includes being involved in method development and method verification as well as maintaining instrumentation and creating standard operating procedures.
It is important that you in addition to technical expertise can independently plan and perform the tasks in a structured way, report the results at project meetings and in customer discussions. You will also be expected to present posters and orals at conferences occasionally.
Who you are:
You have a PhD or MSc with a 5+ years of relevant experience from a diverse set of analytical methods used for AAV and Lenti focus preferably in the life science industry.
You have experience in different analysis methods (ELISA, qPCR, Gyros) for both cell culture, filtrated and purified AAV and Lenti. It’s meritorious if you have worked with other analysis tools/equipment's for viral vectors, for ex Refeyn and HPLC.
Experience of filtration/purification of biomolecules would be advantageous as well as some knowledge in cell culture work.
You have validation and method development expertise
Strong presentation and communications skills are important. Advanced English (oral and writing) and working proficiency in Swedish language.
