The Senior Product Coach leads and develops a team of product coaches while setting a clear vision and consistent standards for coaching impact across the organization. The role also provides hands-on coaching to product leaders and delivery teams to improve collaboration, predictability, and outcomes using observations, retrospectives, and metrics. A key focus is strengthening discovery practices (problem framing, hypotheses, experimentation, and success measures) and advancing outcome-based prioritization and value delivery. The position partners with leadership to support broader agile transformation and is accountable for regular data-driven reporting that demonstrates measurable coaching effectiveness at team, portfolio, and organizational levels.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, develop, and grow a team of Product Coaches. Provide coaching, feedback, onboarding, and performance support while setting a clear vision for coaching impact across the organization. Model coaching excellence, create consistency in approach, and ensure coaches are focused on helping team model their objectives from process driven output to value-driven outcomes. Establish clear expectations for measuring coaching effectiveness and require regular data and reporting on coach impact at the team, portfolio, and organizational levels.
Provide hands-on product coaching to digital leaders, product owners, and delivery teams across one or more portfolios. Partner with teams to strengthen collaboration, predictability, and delivery outcomes through observation, coaching, and targeted interventions. Use retrospectives, flow metrics, and qualitative insights to help teams evolve their ways of working, experiment safely, and continuously improve. Contribute data and insights that demonstrate how coaching interventions are improving team outcomes and delivery performance.
Coach product teams on problem framing, hypothesis‑driven discovery, experimentation, and self-enablement. Improve discovery quality by helping teams define clear outcomes, success metrics, and assumptions before delivery begins. Increase the amount and effectiveness of client‑centered discovery work within teams’ normal operating rhythm. Track and report on discovery quality and outcome alignment as indicators of coaching effectiveness.
Coach product owners and product leaders on backlog strategy, outcome-based prioritization, roadmap transparency, and value delivery. Support data-informed decisions using appropriate metrics (e.g., flow, outcomes, capacity) while reinforcing shared accountability between product and delivery. Ensure consistent reporting that connects coaching efforts to measurable improvements in value delivery.
Serve as an internal thought leader on Agile product delivery practices, ensuring teams understand and maintain effective standards by understanding gaps. Continuously develop expertise, introduce new techniques where appropriate, and help the organization learn from internal and external best practices. Help leaders create conditions for autonomy, accountability, and sustainable delivery. Provide leaders with clear, ongoing reporting on the effectiveness of Agile Coaches and the cumulative impact on teams, portfolios, and the organization.
