Job Description
The Senior Marketing Manager - Public Sector partners closely with Sales to design and execute segment-specific marketing events and programs for the Public Sector, with a strong focus on large accounts and enterprise accounts. The ideal candidate brings creative ideas, high energy, a proactive, can-do mindset - someone who sees opportunity, takes initiative and mobilizes cross-functional teams to deliver results. They will will assess market trends, quantify opportunities, and develop impactful programs that drive demand generation, pipeline acceleration, and account-based growth.
This role reports to the Director of Field Marketing and is hybrid, requiring three days per week in our McLean, VA office.
Responsibilities
Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy to support the AMS Public Sector sales team, with clear accountability to pipeline creation targets.
Bring marketing strategy to life through a mix of tactics, including but not limited to, in-person and virtual events, webcasts, industry conferences, hospitality, sales nurture emails, sales tools and direct mail.
Plan and execute a robust event strategy that targets key audiences within FED and SLED.
Design, execute and scale integrated account-based marketing programs that target strategic accounts, with a focus on new logo acquisition and customer expansion.
Act as a proactive liaison between marketing, field sales and BDR teams - driving alignment, momentum, and follow-through across all programs, events and lead generation efforts.
Clearly communicate and evangelize the marketing strategy to sales, ensuring teams understand campaign themes, available assets, and how to leverage commercial events and programs to drive pipeline acceleration and customer retention.
Utilize reporting tools to analyze marketing performance and translate data into insights that improve strategy and program effectiveness.
Collaborate with the content team and external agencies to develop compelling, public-sector-specific messaging and assets.
Manage budget allocation with discipline and accountability.
Qualifications
7+ years of B2B marketing experience, preferably in technology.
Bachelor's degree in marketing or equivalent experience.
Experience leading marketing efforts within the public sector.
Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives and leading with influence across sales, marketing, and business development teams.
Strong understanding of demand generation, pipeline acceleration, campaign management, and account-based marketing methodologies.
Hands-on experience with Salesforce and business insight/intelligence tools, such as Power BI or Tableau.
Data-driven mindset with experience segmenting audiences, prioritizing opportunities and synthesizing insights from multiple sources.
Deep understanding of sales targets, sales methodology, and how marketing directly supports pipeline creation and booking outcomes.
Comfortable traveling to events as necessary
