Experience: Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred.10+ years of experience in life sciences and NGS sales, with multi-country regional management experience.
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Director, APAC Sales who will play a pivotal role leading and directing all commercial sales efforts across the Asia-Pacific region to maximize revenue and operational excellence. This is an incredible opportunity for someone who is passionate about developing and executing a successful sales strategy for rapid growth across diverse APAC markets. We are looking for candidates with a proven track record of leading multi-country commercial organizations and experience with genomics sales. This role reports to the Chief Commercial Officer.

The candidate will also be a player coach in selling direct to KOL’s and managing a funnel while managing sales reps and distributors in the region. Responsibilities
Create and implement Watchmaker’s APAC sales strategy across direct and distributor markets
Key countries to focus and grow initially include: China, S. Korea, Japan, Australia, India
Lead and develop the APAC commercial team, partnering with the existing in-region team and adding new direct hires over time; ensure the team is motivated, mentored, incentivized, and retained
Identify, develop, and manage international distribution channels across APAC markets including Greater China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, ANZ, and India; provide sales, marketing, and customer support as needed
Establish relationships with KOL’s and key customers in the regions (leading Genome sequencing centers, services providers and translational laboratories utilizing NGS)
Leverage Commercial Operations and analytics to accurately forecast and implement operational plans to drive revenue growth across the region
Monitor and respond to APAC market dynamics to drive market development and expansion strategies
Collaborate appropriately with the Executive team, Marketing, R&D, Finance, Product Management, and Commercial Operations to translate regional customer feedback into current and future products
Coordinate sales and marketing campaigns across APAC markets to ensure rapid increase in regional sales
Own the APAC sales budget; set quarterly and annual sales goals by collaborating with Finance and Commercial Operations teams
Manage KOL relationships across clinical, pharma, and academic genomics segments to identify themes across customer needs and drive core initiatives to improve customer success
Engage directly in the field — KOL meetings, high-level prospecting, customer qualification at strategic accounts, trade shows, and conference presence
Represent Watchmaker at major industry conferences, tender events, and customer engagements across APAC
Sponsor regional regulatory and market-access workstreams in coordination with HQ
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required (in life science or biomedical engineering preferred), Master’s preferred
10+ years of experience in life sciences sales, with a career track record of enabling rapid and sustainable growth across APAC markets
Demonstrated experience in sales management, preferably in NGS sales, with a high level of business acumen in the life sciences tools market
Multi-country APAC quota ownership across direct and distributor channels
Strong understanding of distribution strategies and direct experience working with distributors, including contracting, performance management, and partner restructuring
Experience driving organizational excellence through developmental coaching and mentorship of regional sales teams
Mandarin fluency and demonstrated experience covering Greater China desirable
Familiarity with APAC regulatory pathways relevant to genomics and IVD products preferred
Knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM
Proven experience conducting market analysis and identifying new opportunities
