Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Senior Associate QC - Automation to join ourQuality Engineering team. In this role, you will lead automation testing efforts across multiple projects, ensuring high-quality software releases through robust automation frameworks, API, and database testing. You will collaborate closely with development and QA teams in an Agile environment to improve test coverage, streamline testing processes, and uphold quality standards, ultimately helping deliver reliable and scalable digital solutions for our clients.
Software Requirements
Required: Selenium, Playwright (JavaScript), Java, SQL Server/Oracle, JIRA/Xray/Zephyr, Git, Maven, Jenkins or Azure DevOps
Preferred: Cucumber (BDD), Rest Assured, JavaScript, HP ALM, Confluence, performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter), TestNG
Experience level: Hands-on expertise with automation tools, scripting, and test management platforms in a banking or financial environment
Overall Responsibilities
Develop, enhance, and maintain automation frameworks for UI, API, and database testing using Selenium, Playwright, Java, and Cucumber
Execute functional, integration, regression, and system testing activities; validate complex banking applications and systems
Design automated test scripts for APIs using tools like Rest Assured and API contract validation frameworks
Collaborate within Agile teams during sprint ceremonies, participate in defect triage, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Maintain detailed documentation of test cases, scripts, and defect reports to ensure clear traceability
Contribute to testing strategy, enhance automation coverage, and identify opportunities for process efficiencies
Support manual testing activities when needed, especially during initial test case creation and exploratory testing
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Required: Java, SQL, JavaScript (Playwright)
Preferred: Python for scripting and automation enhancements
Databases/Data Management:
SQL Server, Oracle, ability to run complex SQL queries and stored procedures
Cloud Technologies:
Exposure to cloud environments is advantageous but not mandatory
Frameworks and Libraries:
Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cucumber, Rest Assured, TestNG, Maven
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Git, Jenkins/Azure DevOps, Scrum/Agile processes, test management tools (JIRA/Xray/Zephyr)
Security & Standards:
Understanding of security testing concepts, especially for banking applications, and compliance standards
Experience Requirements
6 to 8 years of experience in functional and automation testing, with strong expertise in automation frameworks
At least 5 years of hands-on experience with Selenium, Java, and API automation tools
Proven experience testing banking, financial, or fintech applications (highly preferred)
Experience managing defect life cycles, regression suites, and test case management
Alternative pathways may include extensive enterprise QA experience with a focus on automation
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and sustain automation scripts for UI, API, and database testing
Collaborate with agile teams to plan, execute, and review testing activities during sprints
Monitor test execution, analyze failures, and troubleshoot issues
Optimize and expand automation coverage for critical banking systems and workflows
Review requirements and coordinate with developers to understand system functionalities
Maintain testing artifacts and produce detailed defect reports and metrics
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (equivalent professional experience acceptable)
Certifications in ISTQB, Certified Selenium Engineer, or equivalent are desirable
Demonstrated expertise in automation testing, especially in banking or financial services domains
Commitment to ongoing learning in test automation, tools, and industry best practices
