Job Description
Job Summary:
The Project Engineer will lead the development and implementation of customer projects, involving cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing Ultrasonic Flow Meter products. This position has overall project management responsibility – designing, executing and monitoring every aspect of the project per the customers’ requirements and specifications.
Essential Responsibilities:
Own the project from initiation through commissioning
Review customer and relevant technical specifications (ASME, IEEE, etc.) for project requirements and compliance
Define project tasks and resource requirements
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, managing timelines, deliverables, and milestones
Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints
Coordinate with finance for project milestone invoicing
Develop and foster customer relations, liaise effectively with all project collaborators and stakeholders
Owner of project change and risk management
Drive continuous improvement in all phases of operation
Prepare/complete required technical documents, reports, manuals, test procedures, calculations, etc.
Prepare concept drawings and drawing markups for design/drafting team, develop Engineering Work Requests (EWRs), review engineering drawings and deliverables for accuracy and content
Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and related specifications
Heavy focus on customer interface including project meetings, status updates, document generation and review, issue resolution, etc.
Coordinate customer visits and inspection points
Train customers in the installation, operation, and maintenance of project equipment
Plan, coordinate, and write test procedures for product Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and calibration
Resolve non-conformances and test issues
Analyze installed product data to verify acceptable performance, conduct system diagnostics and develop troubleshooting plans as needed
Support our field service engineer team during site visits and for aftermarket care
Support sales and marketing teams to foster business growth; assist in project opportunity specification and contract reviews
Assist other departments as needed on internal projects
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Physics
Minimum of 5 years’ experience guiding a project through the complete project life cycle in an engineering related field
US Citizen: Due to the nature of the work and associated U.S. Department of Defense requirements, this role is limited to U.S. citizens only.
Ability to function independently and in a team setting
Ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
Ability to coordinate a budget for projects, including analysis, and budget reporting
Excellent problem-solving skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Excellent team building, leadership, conflict resolution, and negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications
Hands-on technical competency with mechanical and electrical components
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing
Proven track record of continuous improvement initiatives
Familiarity with electronics and embedded software
Experience in flow hydraulics and fluid mechanics
Previous experience with metering or measurement systems
Willingness to travel
Flexible work hours in case of emergencies, including weekends and evenings
Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint), SAP Preferred
