Job Description
Descript is the AI-powered video and podcast editor that makes editing as easy as editing a document. As we continue to grow our Enterprise business, we're looking for a Product Marketing Manager to help define how we bring our products to market, enable our sales team, and turn product innovation into revenue.
This isn't a traditional launch marketing role. You'll own the ongoing narrative for Enterprise: Building messaging, sales enablement, competitive strategy, and the systems that help our GTM teams win. You'll partner closely with Product, Sales, RevOps, Customer Success, and Support to shape how customers discover, evaluate, and buy Descript.
If you enjoy building from scratch, making strategic tradeoffs, and tying your work directly to pipeline, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Do
Own positioning and messaging for Enterprise products and solutions.
Build and continuously improve our sales enablement engine, including battlecards, competitive intelligence, ROI messaging, and playbooks.
Partner with Sales and RevOps to turn customer conversations and Gong insights into better messaging and higher win rates.
Work closely with Product to influence roadmap, launches, pricing, and packaging.
Help define and scale our Enterprise GTM motion, including upcoming initiatives around our API platform and AI-powered products.
Build systems—not just launches—that connect product marketing to measurable business outcomes.
What We're Looking For
4–6 years of B2B SaaS Product Marketing experience with ownership of Enterprise GTM.
Experience partnering closely with Enterprise Sales on messaging and enablement.
Excellent writer with strong strategic thinking and communication skills.
Comfortable making recommendations, driving alignment, and navigating ambiguity.
Highly cross-functional, with experience working across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing.
Excited by building processes and operating in a fast-moving environment.
Nice to Have
Experience with APIs or technical products.
Pricing and packaging experience.
AI-native workflows and a passion for using AI to work more effectively.
Experience in creator tools, media, or PLG companies expanding into Enterprise.
The base salary range for this role is $125k - $170k/year. Final offer amounts will carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location, level, and may vary from the amount above.
About Descript
Descript is building a simple, intuitive, fully-powered editing tool for video and audio — an editing tool built for the age of AI. We are a team of 150 and the backing of some of the world's greatest investors (OpenAI, Andreessen Horowitz, Redpoint Ventures, Spark Capital).
Descript is the special company that's in possession of both product market fit and the raw materials (passionate user community, great product, large market) for growth, but is still early enough that each new employee has a measurable influence on the direction of the company.
Benefits include a generous healthcare package, 401k matching program, catered lunches, and flexible vacation time. Our headquarters are located in the Mission District of San Francisco, CA. We're hiring for a mix of remote roles and hybrid roles. For those who are remote, we have a handful of opportunities throughout the year for in person collaboration. For our hybrid roles, we're flexible, and you're an adult—we don't expect or mandate that you're in the office every day. We do believe there are valuable and serendipitous moments of discovery and collaboration that come from working together in person.
Descript is an equal opportunity workplace—we are dedicated to equal employment opportunities regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity, or Veteran status. We believe in actively building a team rich in diverse backgrounds, experiences, and opinions to better allow our employees, products, and community to thrive.
