Product Manager (PM) – Data & AI Infrastructure FinOps
Role Overview
We are seeking a highly strategic and execution-driven Product Manager (PM) to build and scale our Data & AI Infrastructure FinOps platform. This role will define and deliver next-generation cost visibility, workload optimization, and autonomous performance tuning experiences across Snowflake and Databricks ecosystems.
You will own the product strategy to unlock a $100B untapped opportunity at the intersection of Cloud Cost Optimization, FinOps, and AI-driven data infrastructure performance management.
What You’ll Own
1. Snowflake & Databricks FinOps Platform (Built From Scratch)
Define and launch a comprehensive FinOps experience across:
Snowflake
Databricks
Develop granular cost attribution models (warehouse, cluster, workload, team, query-level).
Build unit economics frameworks (cost per dashboard, cost per ML job, cost per pipeline).
Deliver budgeting, forecasting, anomaly detection, and cost governance workflows.
Create persona-based experiences (Data Engineering, BI, ML, Finance, Platform).
2. Visibility & Optimization Experience
Build best-in-class performance optimization:
Cluster/warehouse efficiency scoring
Idle/over-provisioning detection
Develop optimization recommendation engines:
Auto-sizing warehouses & clusters
Caching & materialization guidance
Storage & compute tuning insights
Establish measurable performance benchmarks to match/exceed competitors.
3. SQL & Spark Workload Visibility & Tuning
Create deep workload intelligence for:
SQL workloads
Spark workloads (ETL pipelines, streaming, ML training)
Deliver developer-friendly tuning guidance
4. Autonomous Optimization Agents
Define and ship AI-driven optimization agents capable of:
Continuous monitoring
Proactive cost/performance tuning
Automated remediation actions
Design closed-loop optimization systems
Define guardrails, explainability layers, and trust frameworks for autonomous actions.
Introduce simulation environments to preview cost & latency impact before changes.
Key Responsibilities
Own product vision, strategy, and roadmap execution.
Partner with Engineering, and GTM to deliver category-defining capabilities.
Define clear success metrics (Cost Savings %, Performance Gains %, Adoption, Autonomous Actions).
Conduct competitive benchmarking and differentiation strategy.
Translate deep technical complexity into clear customer value narratives.
Drive customer discovery with Data Engineers, FinOps leaders, Platform teams, and CIOs.
What We’re Looking For
Experience
6+ years in Product Management.
Strong experience/interest in:
Snowflake and/or Databricks ecosystems.
Cloud cost optimization or FinOps platforms.
Experience building 0→1 enterprise products.
Familiarity with AI/ML-driven automation systems.
Technical Depth
Strong understanding of:
Data & AI tooling
Cloud pricing models (compute, storage, I/O)
Ability to work deeply with engineering on system-level tradeoffs.
Strategic Capability
Ability to define and execute against large TAM opportunities.
Experience creating new product categories or reshaping existing ones.
Strong written & verbal executive communication skills.
Why This Role Matters
Data & AI infrastructure is becoming the fastest-growing line item in enterprise cloud spend. Yet FinOps tooling for data warehouses, lakehouses, and AI workloads remains immature. This role will define the next-generation optimization layer that sits between cloud providers and enterprise data teams — transforming reactive cost reporting into autonomous infrastructure intelligence.
