Job Description

We are the people who give possibilities purpose
BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health™ is our Purpose, and it’s no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

Job Description
Only available for work 20-30 hours per month? Use your healthcare experience to support pharmacy teams adopting automation in a flexible casual training role.
At BD, possibility isn’t an idea. It’s what we do. We are the Makers of Possible.
We’re looking for a Pharmacy Dispensing Consultant (Casual) to deliver onboarding, training and on‑site support for BD Rowa pharmacy automation systems across Brisbane and the QLD region. This flexible role offers approximately 20–30 hours per month, ideal for someone wanting meaningful, hands‑on work without full‑time commitments.
If you have a background in pharmacy, nursing, healthcare education, dispensing, or customer‑facing healthcare roles, and you enjoy teaching people how to confidently use new technology, this is a great opportunity to use your experience in a new way.
Your Day‑to‑Day
You’ll support community pharmacies as they introduce or enhance their use of BD Rowa automation. Your day may include:
Delivering structured and informal training sessions to pharmacy staff
Teaching correct workflow, safe operation and best‑practice use of BD Rowa systems
Demonstrating features, functionality and benefits to pharmacists and technicians
Providing reassurance and hands‑on support during training or transition periods
Supporting basic troubleshooting education and escalating technical issues when needed
Tailoring training to different experience levels and learning styles
Supporting the creation of training materials, guides and SOPs
Capturing feedback and providing insights to the BD PMO and Training teams
Working closely with the Project Management team to plan and schedule visits
Offering pre‑visit phone support to ensure pharmacies are ready for training
Most engagements are 1–2 days on‑site, visiting 2–3 pharmacy locations per month (typically 4–6 working days total). All reasonable travel time and costs are reimbursed.
About You
You’re confident working with people, you enjoy teaching, and you have the patience to help staff build confidence with new technology. You don’t need to be an engineer - just someone with strong communication skills who enjoys working in pharmacy or healthcare settings.
You’ll bring:
Experience in pharmacy, nursing, dispensing, healthcare education, or similar
Strong communication and people skills
Confidence presenting to small groups or one‑on‑one
Ability to explain technical concepts simply and calmly
Strong customer service mindset
Good organisation, reliability and follow‑through
Basic computer literacy (Word, Excel, and general software use)
Ability to travel to customer sites across QLD
A proactive, supportive and patient approach
Experience with automated dispensing technology is a bonus but not essential - full training is provided.
Why BD?
BD is one of the world’s largest medical technology companies, but we’ve never lost our human touch.
You’ll join a collaborative team that values professionalism, flexibility and customer support.
As part of our implementation and training team, you’ll play a meaningful role in helping pharmacies modernise and improve their workflow.
Because at BD, possibility isn’t just imagined - it’s made.
What’s in It for You
Flexible casual role — ~20–30 hours per month
Perfect for clinicians or healthcare professionals wanting additional work or lifestyle balance
All training provided; no engineering skills required
Opportunity to support frontline pharmacy teams
Work that directly improves medication workflows and patient safety
Be part of a global MedTech company with strong development pathways
