MP&P Technical Analyst (NDE)

The Boeing Company is seeking a motivated collaborative senior Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Technical Analyst to join our Advanced Composite Engineering Team in Mesa, Arizona.
The NDE technical analyst will work independently as well as in teams and will apply knowledge of inspection methods in various engineering and manufacturing disciplines. This analyst will provide technical support for non-destructive inspection of various composites and metals structures in support of a variety of fixed wing, rotorcraft and proprietary program platforms. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the efficient production of our world-class aerospace products, including advanced platforms for our Air Proprietary programs.

What you’ll do
Performs nondestructive evaluation on parts and interprets results
Interprets specifications to make decisions relative to process requirements, defects and qualifications
Evaluates parts, materials, processes, suppliers, technology, tools or equipment through research and testing to ensure safety, reliability and adherence to requirements and specifications throughout the product life cycle
Conducts research, tests and analysis to support the use of materials, processes tools and equipment in the engineering and manufacture of products
Analyzes failed parts and processes to reduce or eliminate future failures
Generates test plans, identifies and categorizes failures, determines root cause, documents results and recommendations and takes corrective action for manufacturing, design and documentation issues
Proposes, develops, maintains, and validates revisions to procedures and specifications for producibility, safety and quality
Determines suitability of parts, materials and processes and supports production implementation of materials, processes and equipment
Supports continuous improvement of products and processes by researching, designing, prototyping, developing, fabricating, testing, evaluating and implementing new concepts, materials, processes, equipment and technology
Develops and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, suppliers, partners, government agencies and peers to ensure products and services meet requirements
Interfaces with other organizations to provide clarification or additional information of requirements and inspection results
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
This position requires ability to obtain a Special Access Program (SAP) clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship only.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience): (see education and experience for the levels below)
6+ years of experience working in Nondestructive Evaluation
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills & Experience):
Level 4 - Associate and 6+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.)
Level 5 - Associate and 9+ years' experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+7 years' related work experience, 11 years' related work experience, etc.)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to convey technical and conceptual material to individuals at all levels within and outside of organization
Functional knowledge of instruments, systems, and software used for ultrasonic inspection of composites using manual or automated pulse echo, through transmission, pitch-catch, and phased array techniques
Functional knowledge of instruments, systems, and software used for magnetic particle, penetrant and eddy current inspection
Knowledge of reference standard development and fabrication
Experience with robotics, 3D modeling, 3D printing, Computed Tomography (CT), and/or Ultrasonic Phased Array
Experience working in an engineering or scientific lab
Experienced reading drawings and using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)

Level 4
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Associate) and typically 6 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Bachelor+4 years' related work experience, 8 years' related work experience, etc.).

Summary pay range (Level 4): $80,750 - $109,250
