Job Purpose
GSK is looking to hire a Medical Science Liaison, HIV to join our ViiV Healthcare Team. This role is field-based and reports directly to the Medical Affairs leadership team. This position covers the Eastern Ontario and Newfoundland territory. The ideal candidate will reside in Toronto or within the Greater Toronto Area.
As a Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you will be responsible for providing non-promotional, medical support to ensure the safe and effective use of ViiV’s products through scientific engagement with external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocacy groups. You will play a critical role in bridging internal teams with the external healthcare community, supporting clinical development activities, and delivering scientific insights that inform strategy and improve patient outcomes.

Details (Your Responsibilities)
This role will provide YOU the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:
• Build and maintain strong peer-to-peer scientific relationships with key HIV external experts
• Present balanced and credible scientific data and support medical education initiatives
• Serve as a scientific expert in virology, maintaining deep knowledge of HIV disease, treatments, and the competitive landscape
• Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries with accurate, non-promotional information
• Engage with a wide range of stakeholders including healthcare professionals, investigators, advocacy groups, and formulary decision-makers
• Act as a key liaison between the external healthcare community and internal ViiV teams, gathering insights to inform strategy
• Provide scientific support at regional, national, and international medical conferences
• Deliver scientific training to sales teams using approved materials
• Collaborate with clinical development teams to identify and support clinical trial sites
• Travel up to 70% within the assigned territory

Basic Qualifications:
We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:
• Advanced post-graduate scientific degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD)
• Strong ability to interpret and communicate scientific and medical data in peer-to-peer discussions
• Exceptional presentation and public speaking skills
• Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills with a focus on teamwork and execution
• Knowledge of regulations governing medical information exchange in the Canadian pharmaceutical environment
• Strong negotiation, leadership, and organizational skills
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to work independently in a field-based role with significant travel (up to 70%)
Preferred Qualifications:
If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:
• 2+ years of experience in HIV, virology, or infectious diseases within a medical affairs role
• Established relationships with healthcare professionals and key opinion leaders in the HIV space
• Previous field-based MSL experience

In compliance with Ontario's provincial pay transparency legislation, this job posting includes a salary range to support equitable and informed hiring practices. The annual compensation for this role is CAD115,000 to CAD165,000 , determined based on experience, qualifications, and internal equity.
