The Role We are looking for an experienced and results-driven Manager, Commercial Sales to lead a team of 3–4 Senior Commercial Account Managers focused on acquiring new customers across the Commercial segment in India. This is a first-line leadership role responsible for driving consistent revenue growth, developing high-performing sales talent, and executing the commercial sales strategy. The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader with a successful track record of coaching hunters, building predictable pipelines, driving forecast accuracy, and leading teams to exceed quota. You will partner closely with Sales Engineering, Channel, Marketing, Customer Success, and regional leadership to accelerate growth while fostering a high-performance, customer-centric culture. Your Day-to-Day Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of 3–4 Senior Commercial Account Managers focused on net-new customer acquisition. Drive team achievement against quarterly and annual bookings targets while maintaining a strong focus on profitability and customer success. Conduct regular pipeline reviews, deal inspections, and forecast calls to ensure predictable business outcomes. Coach sales representatives on prospecting strategies, opportunity qualification, solution selling, negotiation, and closing techniques. Support the team in developing strategic account plans and winning complex, competitive opportunities. Partner with Sales Engineers and Product Specialists to deliver compelling customer presentations and executive engagements. Collaborate with Marketing and Channel partners to build pipeline and expand market coverage. Recruit, onboard, and retain top-performing sales talent while creating a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Ensure operational excellence through Salesforce hygiene, forecast accuracy, pipeline management, and KPI tracking. Maintain deep knowledge of Proofpoint's product portfolio, competitive landscape, and evolving cybersecurity market trends. Build strong executive relationships with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders. Act as an escalation point for critical customer engagements and strategic opportunities. What You Bring to the Team 8–12+ years of enterprise or commercial technology sales experience, with at least 3–5 years leading high-performing B2B sales teams. Proven experience managing quota-carrying Account Executives responsible for net-new business acquisition. Consistent track record of leading teams to exceed revenue targets, with multiple years of 100%+ quota attainment as an individual contributor and/or sales leader. Demonstrated success coaching sales teams through complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles. Experience selling enterprise software, SaaS, cloud, cybersecurity, or infrastructure solutions. Strong executive presence with the ability to engage C-level executives as well as technical stakeholders. Excellent forecasting, pipeline management, and sales operations discipline using Salesforce or similar CRM platforms. Experience working cross-functionally with Sales Engineering, Marketing, Channel, Customer Success, and Product organizations. Strong analytical, coaching, communication, and leadership skills. Bachelor's degree preferred. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading commercial or mid-market sales teams in cybersecurity or enterprise software. Experience managing partner-led sales motions. Familiarity with MEDDPICC, MEDDIC, Challenger, Command of the Message, or similar sales methodologies. Experience operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
