Job Description
The Machine Technician is knowledgeable of machine shop equipment, electronic industrial systems, PLCs, variable frequency drives, servo drives, power distribution, instrumentation, preventative maintenance, human-machine interfaces, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Daily responsibilities:
Diagnose problems affecting the operation of production machinery
Troubleshoot electrical issues with VOM, Amprobe, oscilloscope, etc.
Maintain maintenance scheduling and accurate documentation of all work performed within PM software. Respond to written work requests as directed
Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment, and plant facilities
Maintain facility and grounds. Perform a variety of plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and welding functions
Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
Support TPM program, provide needed materials to the defined location
Management of all waste material and chemical storage on-site, coordinate the loading of waste material for transportation off-site
Obtain or request parts required to complete repairs in the shortest time possible to eliminate extensive loss of production
Observe all safety procedures and policies. (Lockout, tag out, etc.)
Must cooperate and work well with others
Perform other duties as assigned
Expectations:
Practical experience required in the repair of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment about NC and CNC machine tools
Skill in troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic malfunctions of machine tools and superior knowledge to correct problem causes
Strong knowledge of machine tool operation, fundamentals of electronic equipment and mechanical mechanisms
Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring schematics, troubleshoot hydraulic systems, and be above average in the repair and maintenance of machine shop equipment
To reason analytically to find and repair problem causes
Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Five (5) years experience in actual repair of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment
