We’re repeat founders with technical backgrounds, working hard to build a successful company that we’re proud to work at. Our product moves $40b+ annually and processes 12m+ API calls daily. We’ve raised $160m+ from top investors including Insight, Accel, and 60+ angels.
THE ROLE
We are hiring a General Manager, Embedded Banking to help scale Unit’s newest suite of embedded banking & bill pay products. These products enable software platforms to offer Unit-managed financial services to their end users with minimal operational overhead, while meaningfully deepening their customer relationships.
This role has end-to-end ownership across vision, P&L, roadmap prioritization, go-to-market execution, and day-to-day operations. You will work directly with Unit’s clients and partners, developing a deep understanding of their businesses and the needs of their end users. Internally, you will lead cross-functional execution across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Risk, Compliance, Legal, and Operations.
This role reports to the CFO and is based in New York City.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Business ownership & strategy. Own the vision, strategy, and P&L for Unit’s fully managed embedded banking & bill pay products.
- Client relationship management. Build deep relationships with Unit’s clients, serving as a trusted partner and developing a strong understanding of the needs of their end users. Ensure Unit has the right level of trust and buy-in from clients to drive product success.
- Distribution & adoption. Own end-user adoption and activation in close partnership with Unit’s Marketing team and our clients. Drive awareness and usage through product-embedded channels such as dashboards, notifications, in-product messaging, and lifecycle communications.
- Product & roadmap ownership. Prioritize the product roadmap alongside Product & Engineering leadership, representing the voice of the client and end user internally.
- Finance, risk, & operations. Work closely with cross-functional partners to monitor unit economics, build operational workflows, and ensure our products scale responsibly and compliantly.
- Team leadership. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team.
REQUIREMENTS
We are open to a variety of backgrounds, but we believe the best candidates will have some combination of the following:
- 10+ years of professional experience, including significant experience in fintech
- Prior ownership of a product, business line, or P&L, with a track record of launching and scaling new offerings
- Comfort operating at both the strategic and tactical levels, setting direction while staying close to execution
- Strong cross-functional leadership skills and experience working closely with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams
- Experience navigating regulated environments and making thoughtful tradeoffs across growth, risk, and complexity
- An entrepreneurial mindset: resilient, proactive, and excited to build in a fast-moving environment
COMPENSATION
The base salary for this role is expected to be $250,000–$300,000 per year. In addition, employees at Unit can expect generous benefits and equity compensation. The final offer will be determined by factors including experience level, expertise, and location.
LIFE AT UNIT
