Lead and monitor the Environmental Health, Safety & Security Programs for the entire organization including our manufacturing floor, R&D labs, warehouses, and offices. Provide direction, guidance, and execution of safety initiatives as we scale our safety culture.
Essential Functions
Provide overall leadership and execution for the environmental, health and safety (EHS) function across the enterprise in support of strategic objectives and initiatives.
Provide specialized technical and regulatory expertise in developing EHS continuous improvement processes and determining required follow up activities associated with EHS incidents, agency inspections, and/or internal/external audits.
Develop of leading and lagging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) that deliver best in class EHS performance and demonstrate a high level of urgency around needed EHS paradigm culture shift change.
Evaluates, recommends, develops, and implements policies and procedures to ensure awareness of and compliance with EHS requirements.
Ensure EHS guidelines and procedures are standardized, current, accurate, compliant and effectively communicated throughout all of our work locations.
Responsible for proactively identifying and driving corrective and preventative action to EHS issues.

Assure risk management and business continuity processes are applied, coach incident response capabilities into the regional teams, analyze incident data, and develop actionable solutions.
Coach colleagues at all levels within the organization and use strong influencing skills around EHS goals/values and that a strong EHS culture ensures business productivity targets can be met.
Provide oversight to industrial hygiene monitoring services covering potential chemical exposure, biological survey, noise and indoor air quality monitoring for continuous improvement of safe operations.
Develop and manage physical security programs which include, but not limited to site risk assessment, minimum security requirements and response.
Complexity & Problem Solving
Work collaboratively with stakeholders on a wide range of risk assessment activities, develop and continuously improve policies, procedures, and guidelines to manage EHS risk throughout the organization.
Project Management experience in a high-growth fast-scaling environment, with expertise in scoping, leading and delivering complex programs, as well as a proven track record of project management skills from conception and design through implementation, measurement and continuous improvement.
Demonstrated ability to manage multi-state EHS regulations, programs, and safety teams.
Collaboration & Interaction
Exercise a leadership, coordination, and communication role with the internal organization to drive continuous EHS improvement across the organization.
Excellent communication skills and ability to influence various levels of stakeholders, including C-Suite.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational and planning skills, handling multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Work Environment
Job will involve office and computer-based work
Frequent safety walks of locations including warehouses, labs, manufacturing, training areas and office work areas
Sedentary work that involves sitting/standing
Ability to conduct inspections and carry equipment used for inspections
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time
Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, or fingers
Travel required: Frequent travel is required between the three St. Louis locations. Minimal travel to other locations and field sites.
Required Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent required in relevant field of work.
Minimum of 8+ years of broad environmental, health and safety experience in both laboratory and operations environments.
Knowledge and experience with EHS Management systems and their deployment.
Certification as a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or Certified Environmental Professional (CEP).
Must be authorized to work in the United States.

All remote positions and those not located in our Berkeley facility are paid based on National Benchmark data. Following employment, growth beyond the hiring range is possible based on performance.
Hiring Compensation Range
$108,000—$136,000 USD
