As an Engineering Manager on the Golden Path Team in the Rider org, you will work on one of Lyft’s most critical Rider flows. We build and iterate on rider facing products that not only ensure a seamless experience for our riders, but also aim to build and deepen rider <> Lyft relationships. This is a high velocity, highly data driven, high business impact team that collaborates closely with product, design, data science, marketing and partner teams. As the leader of this team you will shape the core Lyft rider user experience and be a thought partner with your cross-functionals to deliver business-critical initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Lead a team of talented engineers who like to ship code and tackle hard engineering problems
Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of your team members. Help develop their careers and assign them to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals
Provide continuous feedback, address performance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members
Be a thought partner to your product counterpart to shape UX and features for your team
Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, especially your product manager, to create roadmaps and balance resourcing. Maintain a balance between building sustainable, high-impact projects and shipping things quickly
Work with your engineers and/or product managers to maintain a prioritized backlog and create short term and long-term goals
Own your team’s deliverables and ensure we continue to ship scalable, highly-available products that delight our riders
Help your team build relationships across functions with Support, Marketing or other teams to ensure Lyft’s continuing success
Work closely with the Lyft recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds
Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team’s code, architecture, and processes
Build a team that is collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each other
Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
3+ years of experience managing engineering teams
Experience providing active mentorship and career guidance
Experience in building, shaping and delivering on roadmaps, while collaborating with cross-functional partners and teams
Experience launching consumer facing products
Experience iterating through data-driven experimentation and collaborating closely with data scientists
Experience architecting, building, and scaling distributed systems
Strong technical foundation in mobile or server engineering

The expected base pay range for this position in the San Francisco area is $176,000 - $220,000, not inclusive of potential equity offering, bonus or benefits. Salary ranges are dependent on a variety of factors, including qualifications, experience and geographic location.
