Job Description
Motorola Solutions is building talent pipelines to meet future hiring demands. Role Purpose
As the Director of Procurement – Software & Cybersecurity, you will architect, execute, and govern the global sourcing strategy for Motorola Solutions’ critical software ecosystem, third-party cybersecurity solutions, and cloud services. You will be responsible for building a resilient, secure, and high-performing vendor network that powers our safety and security technology ecosystem.
This strategic leadership role requires an expert negotiator with a deep understanding of complex software licensing, cloud architecture, and cybersecurity risk. You will balance commercial optimization, innovation, compliance, and rigorous vendor security standards to drive sustainable value for Motorola Solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Architect and drive multi-year global procurement strategies for enterprise software, SaaS, cloud infrastructure, third-party embedded software, and advanced cybersecurity products/services.
Complex Commercial Negotiations: Lead executive-level negotiations for Enterprise License Agreements (ELAs), Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) subscriptions, Intellectual Property (IP) licensing, and complex Statements of Work (SOWs) to secure favorable commercial terms, flexibility, and cost optimization.
Third-Party Cyber & Vendor Risk Governance: Partner closely with Corporate Cyber Security and Risk Management teams to ensure all third-party software and security vendors adhere to Motorola Solutions' strict security protocols, compliance frameworks, and data protection standards.
Executive Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Serve as the primary executive contact for strategic software, cloud, and cybersecurity vendors. Drive value creation, roadmap alignment, and continuous improvement through structured Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) and executive steering committees.
Cross-Functional Alignment: Collaborate continuously with Product Management, R&D, Engineering, Legal, and IT leaders to seamlessly integrate third-party software and security platforms into Motorola Solutions’ product offerings and internal operations.
Cost Optimization & Financial Stewardship: Drive aggressive software spend optimization, license management efficiency, and value engineering while utilizing benchmarking and total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling.
Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of global strategic sourcing professionals, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and innovation.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. (Master's degree or MBA preferred).
Experience: 8+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management with a dedicated focus on software and cybersecurity procurement.
Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading strategic initiatives, managing key executive stakeholders, and driving high-value enterprise deals in high-tech, telecommunications, or safety technology environments.
Contracting Expertise: Advanced expertise in drafting and negotiating complex software, SaaS, IP, cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), and security services agreements.
Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of software licensing models, cybersecurity frameworks, third-party risk management (TPRM), open-source software governance, and SaaS cost-structure modeling.
Executive Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to summarize complex commercial and technical terms for executive leadership.
People Management: Proven ability to recruit, mentor, and elevate procurement talent in a fast-paced environment.
Location: Employee must be based in the Greater Chicago Area with the expectation to be in office 3 days per week.

Target Base Salary Range: $160,000.00 - $190,000.00
Consistent with Motorola Solutions values and applicable law, we provide the following information to promote pay transparency and equity. Pay within this range varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The actual offer will be based on the individual candidate.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Management, Supply Chain, or Technology
8+ years of experience in Supply Chain, Procurement Strategy or Contract Management.
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Employer work permit sponsorship is not available for this position.
