We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Customer Success Manager to join our team in Tokyo. This is a hybrid role, with a primary focus (roughly 80%) on our buy-side clients (agencies and marketers) and a secondary focus (roughly 20%) on our sell-side publisher partners.
The CSM will partner with Sales, Technical Client Services, and Solutions Engineers to successfully onboard, retain, and grow client accounts. You will be responsible for shortening time to value realization, cementing strong relationships with key stakeholders, and driving the adoption of IAS’s verification and publisher technology. This role suits a strategic thinker who is passionate about driving ROI and forging long-term commercial relationships across the digital advertising ecosystem.
What You’ll Do:
Account Management & Retention: Oversee the full lifecycle and health of assigned accounts, including onboarding, value realization, and renewals for strategic buy-side and sell-side clients.
Trusted Advisor: Build and foster regular, impactful engagement with key client stakeholders and executive sponsors, acting as the lead point of contact for all service-related matters.
Product Adoption: Master a thorough knowledge of IAS products to ensure successful delivery of solutions; specifically drive the adoption of publisher & advertiser technology.
Strategic Growth: Identify and drive upsell opportunities alongside the Sales team within current accounts to grow long-term revenue.
Data-Driven Insights: Own client meetings and conduct regular strategic business reviews, presenting data analysis and engagement modules to highlight the value of IAS.
Problem Resolution: Act as the primary owner for client escalations, working with internal stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Finance, and TAM) to enact timely solutions.
Thought Leadership: Demonstrate best practices and share industry learnings within the larger Customer Success team to improve the overall service experience.
Reporting: Meticulously track customer engagements via internal systems (Salesforce, Gainsight) to document the customer lifecycle and activity.
What You’ll Need:
Experience: 4+ years in a client-facing customer success or account management role within the ad tech industry.
Industry Knowledge: A deep understanding of the digital advertising ecosystem, including programmatic advertising, agencies, DSPs, and publishers.
Analytical Skills: Strong ability to identify business issues, analyze data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations for clients.
Communication: Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, present, and advise senior-level stakeholders.
Technical Proficiency: Experience working with Salesforce, Gainsight, GAM (Google Ad Manager), and GCM is highly preferred.
Organizational Skills: Exceptional ability to manage multiple projects to completion with precise attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
Language: Native or near-native fluency in Japanese and professional working proficiency in English is required (to serve the Japan market).
