Job Description
WHAT IS BOX?
Box (NYSE:BOX) is the leader in Intelligent Content Management. Our platform enables organizations to fuel collaboration, manage the entire content lifecycle, secure critical content, and transform business workflows with enterprise AI. We help companies thrive in the new AI-first era of business. Founded in 2005, Box simplifies work for leading global organizations, including JLL, Morgan Stanley, and Nationwide. Box is headquartered in Redwood City, CA, with offices across the United States, Europe, and Asia.
By joining Box, you will have the unique opportunity to continue driving our platform forward. Content powers how we work. It’s the billions of files and information flowing across teams, departments, and key business processes every single day: contracts, invoices, employee records, financials, product specs, marketing assets, and more. Our mission is to bring intelligence to the world of content management and empower our customers to completely transform workflows across their organizations. With the combination of AI and enterprise content, the opportunity has never been greater to transform how the world works together and at Box you will be on the front lines of this massive shift.
WHY BOX NEEDS YOU
Box’s Content Marketing team is operating as a media outlet inside an enterprise software company — one that builds content journeys for key personas, ships daily, grows owned audiences, and proves its impact on pipeline. The Content Operations & Growth Manager is the backbone of that operation.
This is a department of one that touches everything. You sit at the center of writing, video, social, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships — understanding where every asset lives, how it ladders into a content journey, and where the flashing lights are before they become fires. You’re not just tracking the content operation. You’re the person who holds it together and continuously makes it better.
A core part of this role is being the team’s representative in launch planning, campaign coordination, and stakeholder meetings — knowledgeable enough to make decisions on the team’s behalf and define what our support for any given launch should actually look like.
This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role that reports directly to the Senior Director of Content Marketing.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Stitch Content Journeys Together
A big part of this role is making sure our content journeys actually work as journeys — not just a collection of assets. That means understanding what we have, ensuring there’s an obvious next step from every piece of content, and making sure someone who lands on a blog post or watches a video knows where to go next: deeper into our content, toward a subscription, or further down the funnel.
Maintain and evolve our content constellation views in Airtable — keeping a clear picture of what we have at each stage of the funnel for each key persona, how fresh it is, and how well it’s performing.
Identify gaps in our content journeys and surface them to the team with enough context to act on them — what’s missing, why it matters, and where it should sit.
Work with the editorial and video teams to make sure existing content is stitched together with clear next steps and calls to action, not sitting in isolation.
Own the Publishing Pipeline
Run Box’s content publishing operation from intake to publication — Airtable as the system of record, capacity visibility across the team, cross-functional scheduling.
Ensure 90%+ of content requests are processed through formal intake with clear prioritisation criteria.
Spot bottlenecks, gaps, and workflow failures early and fix them before they become problems.
Define and Coordinate Launch Support
Define how Content Marketing supports any given launch — how big it is, what we build, what existing content we resurface, and how we amplify it. Then coordinate to make it happen.
Serve as Content Marketing’s primary point of contact for launches and waves — attending planning meetings, representing the full team, and making decisions on our behalf.
Define the bill of materials for each launch: what net-new content to build, what existing content to re-promote, and how everything gets amplified across our owned channels.
Coordinate with PMM, Campaigns, and other cross-functional partners to ensure content is sequenced, scheduled, and ready.
Build the Measurement Infrastructure
Own Box’s Knotch deployment and content performance taxonomy — tracking engagement quality, content-influenced pipeline, and channel health across blog, newsletter, video, and social.
Identify underperforming content types quarterly and reallocate resources accordingly.
Make performance data visible and actionable for the whole team. Run monthly performance reviews and quarterly content audits.
Track content-touched account data and engagement depth; share regularly with Demand Gen and Sales.
Grow Owned Channels
Lead blog information architecture and newsletter optimisation; improve signup conversion by reducing friction across Box.com.
Own subscriber growth strategy across email newsletter, YouTube, LinkedIn newsletter, and executive voice programs — with a target of growing total subscriber base 30%+ to 70K.
Modernize the Tech Stack
Lead evaluation and deployment of tools that help the team move faster and produce higher-quality content.
Own vendor relationships for content operations tooling.
WHO YOU ARE
5+ years in content operations, marketing operations, or editorial operations at a B2B SaaS or technology company.
Proven experience managing content workflows and publishing systems at scale — intake processes, editorial calendars, and cross-functional publishing operations.
Comfortable being the person in the room representing a team — making calls on prioritisation, scope, and launch support without needing to escalate everything.
Strong grasp of content performance measurement: you understand the difference between vanity reach and pipeline impact, and you can build the infrastructure to track the latter.
Experience with channel growth programs — you’ve grown email newsletters, YouTube subscribers, or LinkedIn audiences through systematic strategy, not content volume.
Familiar with tools like Airtable, Knotch, Adobe Analytics, or equivalent content performance and project management platforms.
Bias for systems over heroics. You build processes that scale, not workarounds that require your constant presence.
