Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced Azure Data Analyst to join our data team. In this role, you will design, implement, and optimize cloud-based data solutions leveraging Azure Synapse Analytics and other cloud data platforms. Your expertise will enable efficient data processing, analytics, and reporting to support strategic decision-making. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will ensure the performance, security, and reliability of our cloud data environment, contributing directly to the organization’s digital and data-driven initiatives.
Software Requirements
Required: Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Power BI, SQL Server, DataOps tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)
Preferred: Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Machine Learning, Power Platform (Power Automate, Power Apps)
Experience level: Proven hands-on experience designing and managing cloud data platforms through Azure Synapse and related tools
Overall Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain cloud infrastructure and data applications within Azure Synapse and associated services
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and business analysts to implement cloud data solutions for enterprise analytics
Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize cloud environments for performance, scalability, and cost efficiency
Create and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI and other tools
Ensure data quality, security, and compliance across cloud platforms through governance and best practices
Stay current with industry trends, recommending and implementing enhancements to cloud data services
Provide technical support and consulting to internal teams and clients on cloud data architecture and usage
Technical Skills (By Category)
Programming Languages:
Required: SQL, PowerShell or Bash scripting
Preferred: Python, R for advanced data analysis and automation
Databases/Data Management:
Experience with Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake Storage, Snowflake, and relational databases
Cloud Technologies:
Required: Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure SQL, Power BI
Frameworks and Libraries:
Familiarity with data integration frameworks, Power BI Desktop, and Power Query
Development Tools & Methodologies:
Azure DevOps, Git, Agile/Scrum practices, DataOps principles
Security Protocols:
Understanding of data security, role-based access control, encryption, GDPR/CCPA standards
Experience Requirements
6+ years of experience working with cloud-based data platforms in an enterprise environment
Proven expertise with Azure Synapse Analytics, data integration, and cloud data management
Experience designing and maintaining data pipelines, data lakes, and analytics dashboards
Industry experience in finance, banking, fintech, or similar sectors is preferred
Alternative: Extensive experience with other cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) with a focus on Azure tools
Day-to-Day Activities
Develop and optimize data pipelines, data models, and data storage solutions in Azure cloud
Design and build dashboards and reports to support business analysis and decision-making
Monitor data workflows, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements
Collaborate with data engineers and business units to interpret requirements and deliver solutions
Maintain documentation, best practices, and data governance standards
Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for cloud data environments
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field; equivalent industry experience acceptable
Certifications such as Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Scientist, or equivalent preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale, enterprise-grade data platforms in a cloud environment
Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in cloud analytics and data engineering
