Associate Software Engineer

What you'll do? Design, develop, and maintain Ansible Networking collections for the Ansible Automation Platform. Participate in sprint planning, development, and release cycles for Ansible Networking content. Work closely with management to understand requirements and help deliver on product roadmap goals. Ensure that all Ansible collections are well-tested, documented, and meet Red Hat quality and security standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including documentation and support to ensure smooth delivery of releases. Engage with the open-source community to contribute upstream code, review community feedback, and integrate improvements. Resolve Customer Bugs and escalations quickly.  Troubleshoot issues, fix defects, and continuously improve the performance and maintainability of the codebase. Stay current with emerging automation and networking technologies to help evolve Ansible Networking offerings. Work in an Agile environment   What you'll bring? Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent 1+ years of software development experience, preferably in Python or related languages. Familiarity with Ansible or other automation frameworks. Understanding of CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with related tools. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (e.g., routing, switching, protocols). Experience working in agile or scrum-based environments. Exposure to enterprise software development and testing practices The following are considered a plus: Experience with open-source development models and contributing to community projects. Ability to work with global teams. Usage of any AI tools (Claude/ Gemini/ Cursor) Experience interacting with customers or community users.
