The AI Intern will support the lifecycle management, optimization, testing, and adoption of functional chatbots owned by the UOT organization. These bots require structured operational support to ensure sustained accuracy, usability, and business value. This role bridges technical bot functionality with business adoption and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Scenario-Based Testing & Evaluation
Develop real-world user scenarios to test chatbot performance.
Conduct structured testing prior to releases and updates.
Evaluate response accuracy, tone, compliance, and workflow alignment.
Document defects, gaps, and improvement recommendations.
Support regression testing following updates.
Chatbot Operations & Optimization
Monitor bot analytics (usage, resolution rate, fallback frequency).
Identify conversation breakdown points.
Recommend prompt refinements and workflow improvements.
Assist in continuous improvement cycles.
Stakeholder Communications
Draft update summaries for business stakeholders.
Support go-live communications and release notes.
Help prepare adoption updates for leadership.
Track enhancement requests and feedback loops.
Enablement & Adoption Support
Create simple job aids or FAQs to support end users.
Assist in training sessions or demo walkthroughs.
Monitor adoption metrics and identify engagement gaps.
Support feedback collection and user sentiment tracking.
Governance & Documentation
Maintain chatbot documentation (flows, prompts, updates).
Support version tracking and change logs.
Assist with compliance reviews where required.
Ensure alignment with AI governance standards.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field. (Completed Sophomore or Junior year in a 4-year degree program)
Strong written and verbal communication; ability to write crisp summaries for non-technical leaders.
Hands-on familiarity with AI tools and prompt behavior (why outputs vary, how prompts shape responses).
Ability to create structured test cases, document issues, and manage a backlog with discipline.
Strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
Comfortable with Sheets/Excel and basic reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with QA/UAT, analytics, product ops, research, or technical writing.
Familiarity with retrieval vs generation, grounding, hallucinations, and guardrails.
Exposure to knowledge bases/RAG, search relevance, or evaluation scoring/rubrics.
Basic scripting (Python) for organizing test data (nice-to-have, not required.
The intern pay rate for this position is $30 - $32/hour, plus eligibility for paid holidays and medical benefits. Our pay ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. During the hiring process, a recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for a preferred location.
